I have had a pair or Mordaunt Short MS-904 two way towers since 2001. My next speaker purchase was the Dayton B652 in 2012. Now due to watching RUclips videos I have DCM Timepiece, Polk Tsi100, Bose 201, Bose 141, Bose 301 iv, Baby Advent II. I recapped the DCMs and they sound better now. I had to refoam the Advents and wow what a good sounding speaker. My hearing rolls off at 14-15khz so extended high end doesn't matter as much as midrange quality. I'm eyeing some RTRs local to me for a decent price.

Off topic question… In your shop, I’m assuming you have some way to select a particular receiver and pair it with a variety of speaker options without constantly moving wires back and forth. What selector box are you using or recommend? I have the Douk Audio One Little Bear, but that only allows for two source inputs and two speaker outputs. I’d love to have a similar ability for all the receivers I’ve accumulated so far in my hobby.

lol lol it did happen to me even when I was skeptic about it they insisted so much that I end up convincing them to accept a hundred $$’s which they accepted then got home and find out that my instincts were correct. I didn’t lose any money cause a greedy ol man in my block saw me unloading them and offered me 150$$ so I made him suffer a couple hours then I said you know what I’ll sell them to you cause they’re too big he was so happy and so was I. Guess that day anyone could have called me a con artist lol.

I own 1 set of JBL speakers , they are the N38 studio speakers 8” woofers slim style a they are black cabnets with a rose metallic look of color on woofers an other areas , tweeter on one has burnt out but other than that for 35 bucks an minimal scratches , almost perfect I think All the dust keep um preserved lol I got them from an older dude who’s house was clean but room they were in was really really dusty as if he’d not been in there since he bought um lol , but they sound crisp an clear to me , I ordered a new tweeter, I’ve owned JBL in past an there titanium tweeters always burnt out after a few yrs , replaced 3 over the time I owned the others , so we see how these hold up once it’s repaired

How do you view the 2275 versus the 2270. I know the 70 is a little warmer. Could the 2275 also take the #1 spot, or are there reasons why you feel the 2275 has a much lower ranking?

So, I found a SL-230 at a garage sale last year for basically free, took it home and thus began my journey into vintage audio. I went ahead and disassembled the deck and got all of the automatic functions working, including the repeat function. Based on this success, I felt emboldened to start looking at vintage receivers. Since then, it has become an obsession and I've refurbished a few other turntables as well as a number of receivers. I am now in the process of building out a home hi-fi listening room for some of my favorite pieces. This journey led to me finding Skylabs Audio. Kevin, you do a great job on these videos and I really appreciate your commitment. To everyone, get out and support Skylabs Audio. I've personally purchased a number of t-shirts, not that I needed any more, but just to show my support to Kevin and the entire team! Keep up the good work!

Good Day as an influential audio reviewer can you please call attention to the fact that WiiM removed AirPlay casting (the feature that allows you to send what’s playing on the WiiM to HomePods) with the latest firmware update and forum posts referencing this “upgrade” keep disappearing. It worked reliably and was also the reason I pre-ordered a WiiM Ultra for another room. Thanks.

It’s awesome just listening to you talk !! You’re cool as shit bro , the McIntosh stance you made in your other video was so spot on but hilarious and relatable for me !! Haha anyways I was born in 82 so I grew up between the vinyl to cassette to cd days and my dad still to this day has his Mac … can’t remember which model but what’s funny is he recently retired and moved to AZ from here in North Dakota, and when he left he gave me everything from his entire vinyl collection to his snow blower ….. but when I asked for the McIntosh he just laughed and I wouldn’t be surprised if the damn thing had its own plane ticket 😂 but you’re right , listening to those amps is something special, I grew up watching my dad and his buddies just gawk over them, trade and sell etc …. Elite amplifiers for sure

I have an interesting proposition for speakers. And it involves sanyo in the 80s.(yes i know what you are already thinking) but hear me out. They bought a few companies, fisher and otto etc. Now i will say they made some absolute junk speakers. However they attempted to kinda rival the square flat diaphragm sony apm speakers. A lot of them were poor. But amongst all of that they had the Fisher sme-m27, the ste-m27 and the sanyo sx-m17-2. These speakers listed are identical to each other. Made in japan. They are good quality with a really cool metal facia. Drivers are overbuilt and don't suffer from foam rot. They're 6ohm 120w peak. Really nice sounding. Really sound projection. Really underrated and cheap, got 8 of them 😂

I have a 1989 Technics 1200mkll that sat in a garage in Phoenix for 10 years, mat ok as long as I've had it. I think the mat rot is a late 70's early 80's thing. Also have a 1950 that I serviced myself. I'll trust it with 3 records but not 6. Keep that 1950, really fun.

I really would love you get an Advance Paris A-10 Classic but those tubes being so difficult to get out means it's a no-go for me. I don't care about tube rolling but they do wear out and would need replacing at some point. I don't want to have to send a product back to a manufacturer just to replace a part that will need to be replaced regularly. Damn shame as if it wasn't for that, it would be the next amp I buy.

I'm the original owner of an SL-D202 that I bought in the mid to late 70s. Still works great, though I rarely use it. I have an in-line pre-amp so that I can feed it into my computer and "digitize" my LPs. The dust cover's hinges are fine, but, it has a crack in the middle-top; back in the early 80's, my wife had placed a vase on my stereo furniture. One time, when I had the volume cranked up high, the vibrations caused the vase to fall on it. That broke my heart, but I go over it.

Been using a SL-D3 bought NOS for $100, 20 years ago. Changed the Empire 1000 cart with the usual green AT, diyed my way to clean, lube and adjust and it has been my everyday ride. More than decent sound, fun and easy to use. Best buy. My other tt is a VPI MkIV, Audioquest PT9 arm and Ortofon 2m Blue.
